Kent Mathewson shared insights on medical malpractice litigation and the lifecycle of a case at the 15th annual joint conference for the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons and the Chicago Ophthalmological Society on March 8, 2019. He has been an invited speaker at this conference for many years.
To a large audience as part of the “Frontiers & Controversies in Ophthalmology” program, Mr. Mathewson discussed dealing with the stress of litigation. He advised attendees on what to do and what not to do when a lawsuit is filed and during a trial, and he shared insights on the consequences of an adverse decision or settlement.
Mr. Mathewson was joined by two other panelists including a leading glaucoma specialist at Rush University Medical Center and a representative from the Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company.
