Plaintiff alleged defendant mistreated the plaintiff’s decedent’s renal colic by prescribing narcotics, causing the 27-year-old to become drug dependent. This allegedly led to his accidental death from a drug overdose one year later.

The lawsuit was brought on behalf of the surviving spouse and six-year-old son of the decedent.

Plaintiff sought $2 million. The jury returned a defense verdict.
