Biography
Timothy L. Hogan concentrates his litigation practice in professional liability, products liability, and commercial defense. Mr. Hogan has extensive experience defending his clients from the inception of the case through trial in complex medical malpractice cases and complex product liability cases involving pharmaceutical companies and industrial product manufacturers.
In the medical arena, Mr. Hogan’s broad litigation experience includes the defense of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities. Furthermore, he has directly represented physicians from a number of specialties including orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, neurologists, ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, obstetricians, cardiologists, internists as well as nurses and other health care professionals.
He also dedicates his time to defending product liability clients, including industrial product manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and other product manufacturers.
Mr. Hogan has been consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in Illinois, including being named to the Super Lawyers list as one of the top attorneys in Illinois. No more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to the list.
In 2018, Mr. Hogan was awarded Outstanding Defense Verdict in a Medical Malpractice Case by Jury Verdict Reporter. This highly-coveted award recognized defense attorneys who consistently provide exceptional results for their clients.
In 2016, he was given the “Emerging Lawyer” distinction from Leading Lawyers. “Emerging Lawyers” have been identified by their peers to be among the top lawyers who are 40 or younger or have practiced for no more than 10 years. Less than 2% of all lawyers licensed in each state receive the distinction of “Emerging Lawyer.”
Mr. Hogan was previously named as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2011 and 2012. Additionally, he also has been awarded an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the publisher of the premiere directory of legal professionals.
Mr. Hogan joined the firm in 2003 and was elected to partnership in 2012. He previously clerked for the Honorable Lynn M. Egan of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
He is a 2002 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he was named to the Dean’s List, worked as a staff editor for the Loyola University Consumer Law Journal, and was a member of the London Advocacy Program. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
