Biography
Peter LeGrand joined Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth LLC as an associate attorney in May 2024. His practice is concentrated on professional liability litigation, particularly in defending healthcare and legal professionals. Peter has tried multiple jury trials to verdict. He has also represented clients in arbitration, including in front of the MLBPA, and is experienced in mediation. Peter has successfully authored and argued motions at each stage of litigation, and he has deposed numerous fact and expert witnesses. Peter has experience authoring successful appellate briefs.
Peter graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri in 2014. Peter also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2018, where he was awarded the CALI in the Elder Financial Justice Clinic and served as the Executive Administrate Editor of the Elder Law Journal. Additionally, his article The Potential Unconstitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Board and its Ramifications for the Elderly was published in the Elder Law Journal.
Peter is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. Peter has also appeared pro hac vice in courtrooms around the country.
Peter enjoys spending time with his family in the western suburbs of Chicago, playing tennis or basketball with friends, reading a new book while exploring a new library, and going on hikes with the family dog.
