Patrick G. Meredith
Biography
Patrick G. Meredith is an associate at Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth.
After becoming an attorney in 2021, Mr. Meredith served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Veronica L. Duffy in the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. During this experience, Mr. Meredith wrote numerous opinions on dispositive and pre-trial motions. Mr. Meredith wrote on various civil and criminal issues, including 1st, 4th, 6th, and 8th Amendment violations, wrongful terminations, qualified immunity, bad faith insurance coverage, Petitions for Writ of Habeas Corpus, Social Security Administration appeals, trade secret misappropriation, Federal Tort Claims Act, personal injury disputes, and general commercial disputes. Mr. Meredith also assisted Judge Duffy with several court trials, evidentiary hearings, pre-trial hearings, mediations, and criminal detention hearings.
Mr. Meredith graduated Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2021. While at Loyola, Mr. Meredith served as the Feature Articles Editor for Loyola’s Consumer Law Review. In addition, Mr. Meredith competed on two Moot Court teams, the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition and Saul Lefkowitz Competition Team in Trademark and Unfair Competition Law and served as In-House Director for Loyola’s Moot Court program.
Further, Mr. Meredith served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Sanjay T. Tailor in the Circuit Court of Cook County Chancery Division. During this experience, Mr. Meredith drafted opinions and bench memorandums on a variety of commercial disputes.
Mr. Meredith graduated with honors earning his B.S. in Political Science from Michigan State University in 2018.
