Biography
Connor J. Whitting joined Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth LLC as an associate attorney in August 2023. His practice concentrates in professional and general liability defense litigation. Connor has already tried multiple jury trials to verdict. Additionally, Connor has authored many appeals in both state and federal appellate courts. Connor also argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in February 2022.
Prior to joining DBMS, Connor worked at another well-known professional liability litigation law firm where he gained extensive experience writing and arguing a myriad of dispositive motions and deposing fact and expert witnesses.
Connor worked as a Law Clerk for two Circuit Court of Cook County Motion Section judges after graduating from law school. Connor’s duties included managing a courtroom docket of more than 1,700 pending lawsuits, advising and conferring with the judges on disputed motions and discovery issues, drafting court orders and internal memoranda and overseeing a law student’s externship program.
Connor graduated magna cum laude from Illinois State University in 2014. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2018. Connor was Notre Dame’s Chicago Inn of Court class representative during his third year in law school. Connor also received the Deposition Skills Award of Excellence in 2018.
Connor is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Connor grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. He enjoys fishing in Northwest Ontario, playing golf and ice hockey and reading philosophy.
