Brian P. O’Kane

Biography

Brian P. O’Kane has extensive litigation and trial experience since his admission to the Illinois Bar in 1997.  For more than two decades, he has defended hospitals, physicians and other allied health professionals in Illinois medical negligence lawsuits.  He has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in both medical negligence and premises liability matters.  Mr. O’Kane has also achieved success for his clients by way of summary judgment, motions to dismiss and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. O’Kane is experienced in defending a wide array of medical professionals, including emergency medicine physicians, radiologists, dermatologists, obstetricians/gynecologists, pediatric cardiologists, internists, neonatologists and nurses, to name a few.  He has experience in every aspect of his clients’ defense from the inception of a case through post-trial motion and appeal.

Mr. O’Kane joined the firm in 2022 as Senior Counsel after practicing for more than twenty years at a Chicago medical malpractice defense firm.  He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1997.  He earned his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Illinois, where he was awarded the Bronze Tablet, symbolizing the University’s highest recognition for academic achievement.
