Biography

Ashley Dus concentrates her practice in medical negligence and institutional negligence. Ms. Dus defends physicians, medical providers, and institutions against medical malpractice claims. Since becoming an attorney in 2016, Ms. Dus has second-chaired several medical malpractice trials to a verdict. She has taken and defended depositions of professionals, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses.

Ms. Dus joined the firm as an associate following her graduation magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2016. At Illinois, Ms. Dus served as Editor in Chief of The Elder Law Journal and as a teaching assistant for both legal writing and advocacy. Ms. Dus actively participated in the Clinics at the College of Law, where she served as a student attorney representing victims of financial exploitation and parents, children and families facing separation due to allegations of abuse or neglect. Ms. Dus also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David Garcia in Will County, Illinois.

Ms. Dus earned four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for her academic excellence in Legal Writing & Analysis, Negotiation Skills & Strategies, Family Law, and Children, Culture & Violence. During her third year of law school, Ms. Dus was awarded two Rickert Awards for her Excellence in Legal Writing and for her Excellence in Service. The Rickert Awards are the most prestigious awards conferred upon students at the University of Illinois College of Law.

Ms. Dus graduated with honors earning her BA in Political Science, with a minor in Spanish, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013. Ms. Dus graduated college a year early.

Ms. Dus is passionate about defending the practice of medicine and is dedicated to her clients. In her free time, Ms. Dus enjoys spending time at her family’s lake house and is an avid runner, having completed several marathons.
