Mark M. Burden has broad litigation experience with a primary focus in professional negligence and product liability defense. He has successfully defended at trial a number of medical negligence cases and product liability actions against major manufacturers.

Mr. Burden was recently named in the January 28, 2008 edition of Chicago Lawyer as one of the top 10 young trial lawyers on the rise. In addtion, he has also authored numerous briefs and argued appeals on a variety of legal issues, including insurance coverage, medical malpractice and product liability. He has been an invited speaker at numerous client and bar association presentations on such topics as risk management and the obese patient, strategies for a bariatric surgery case, managing a malpractice lawsuit, and preparing an opening statement in a jury trial.

Mr. Burden joined the firm upon its founding in 1995 and became a partner in 2000. He was previously an associate at Baker & McKenzie. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was an editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. While in law school, he was an extern with the United State's Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois and for the Honorable James B. Zagel of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
