DBMS announces seventh new associate in 10 months

Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth is pleased to announce that Jack Battaglia has joined the firm as an associate. He is the seventh associate the firm has brought on in the past 10 months.

Battaglia focuses on professional negligence, product liability, commercial litigation, and appellate matters. His practice is bolstered by the significant experience he gained during judicial clerkships and while working for the City of Chicago.

Mr. Battaglia joined the firm after clerking at the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, for the Honorable Mary L. Mikva and the Honorable Laura C. Liu. Before that, he also clerked for the Honorable Rodolfo Garcia of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chancery Division. As Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago Department of Law, Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division, Mr. Battaglia handled federal cases defending City employees.

Mr. Battaglia graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2014. During law school, he served as Managing Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Environmental & Administrative Law.
