Plaintiff, a 19-year-old female, was driving a vehicle equipped with an automatic shoulder belt. She was traveling at approximately 55 mph when she encountered a deer in the roadway, braked, swerved, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a ditch.
Plaintiff’s head struck the steering wheel resulting in broken nasal bones, lacerations and alleged permanent injuries to her nasal cavity.
Plaintiff alleged the restraint system was susceptible to "skip-lock" and sought in excess of $350,000.
The jury returned a defense verdict.
