Plaintiff v. Defendant General Surgeon

John M. McGarry and Laura Coffey Ieremia of DBMS successfully defended a general surgeon in Lake County at trial against allegations of performing a non-indicated double bowel resection during a diagnostic laparoscopy, leading to multiple hospitalizations for bowel obstructions due to adhesive disease.

After plaintiff requested $2.475 million in damages, the Lake County jury returned a verdict for the defense.
